Growing up, Larry worked alongside his dad doing plumbing work and working as a meat cutter at Lange’s Creamery. He also worked for Farber & Otteman Funeral Home as a removal assistant. Larry graduated from Sac City High School with the class of 1960. He was scouted by many area colleges as he was the local high school football star.
